Snow

Are we going to get any ?

There is plenty of the white stuff on the ground, but it is frost, not snow

It's too cold to snow, Tommy. I've just back from nipping to the shop and it's just 1C right now, but if the temperature rises, we just might have a bit. There were a couple of tiny flakes coming down, but were melting on landing.

Winnie

Police in Cumbria have declared a major incident in Cumbria, because of heavy snow, which has trapped a lot of vehicles on the roads.

Angelwood's prediction could well be accurate because, there's a smittering of the white stuff falling as I type,

Rain forecast for Monday and the roads will be gritted, so long as people drive sensibly.

Hopefully the rain will wash the snow away. I don't mind driving in snow and ice as I learned how to control my car when I lived in Berlin, and it gets really bad there. Doesn't mean I like it though.

Angelwood SOME roads will be gritted. A lot of people will have to struggle to get off the estates onto the main routes. I am not getting into a debate about the amount of roads which for practical and cost reasons don't see a gritter We have carers coming to see Yvonne and one yesterday got a culture shock because she had never seen SNOW and she will learn quickly and I hope safely because she has to drive in it.

No snow on the Fylde coast.....last time we had snow of any consequence it was 2010.

Peterp, no debate required. I am well aware some roads will be gritted, not the side roads. I have been driving for almost 50 years and like Mollie, I know how to drive in snow.
