My son has just sent me this message it's very very small print so I'll just tell you the gist of it.
A card is pushed through your door called ( Parcel delivery service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and you need to contact them
0906 6611911 a premium rate number.
If you call the number and hear a recorded number
you will already have been billed for £350.
If you do receive a card with these details please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655.

Morning Momac. So you're saying if you ring the 0906 number they can somehow get your bank details to take money from your account??

I think momac is saying the charge is added to your phone bill.
I checked the number here's what it says

"The chain email refers to a service (operating on 0906 6611911) that was shut down by PhonepayPlus (then ICSTIS) in December 2005.
PhonepayPlus subsequently fined the company that was operating the service, Studio Telecom (based in Belize), £10,000.
The service is NO LONGER running and has NOT been running since December 2005"

But still thank to momac for highlighting the scam.

Thank you first mate,it's worth knowing if it only highlights the possibility of further scams that are out there.

I still use my 2g phone for voice calls. A cheapie, but has better quality audio and is far easier to use than my 5g phone.

I changed to a new 5g SIM provider about three months ago, and have only used it for data: never phoned anyone with it, never given the number to anyone.

When, to my surprise, one day I found a missed call logged, I put the number online into one of those who called me searches. The result told me it was a number associated with parcel delivery scams!

Since then, about twenty further instances of this have occurred, AND ALWAYS WITH DIFFERENT MOBILE NUMBERS FOR THE CALLER!

Having never answered, I cannot be explicit about how they are attempting to scam, but beware. They are damned persistent in their attempt.

Once you do answer that tells them that the number is legit, they then persist.

I recently clicked on a link to a camping stuff link and the computer imminently ' froze' a flashing warning of, " your computer is being used for fraudulent deals, click here for instructions to fix it, one time payment to fix, do not try to erase or computer get bwockt "

I could not clear the screen so, I turned the computer off at the plug and crashed it down, On turning back on, the computer's security sorted it,
