Blackpool?

I know loads of Wiganers went for days out or longer but what I want to know is if anybody remembers Stanleys Restaurant. It was a well known steakhouse in the 1960s 70s?

I cawnt believe nobody remembers this place. I think the last time I went for a meal was about 1982, so only forty odd years ago!

This year I was in Blackpool, just for a day out and I had one of those strange moments,,We stopped in a cafe for a cuppa and a rest and the silence caught my attention, I thought to my self, There is something missing here and I could't figure it, Then it hit me after a while, We were served in paper cup and paper plates which get thrown away, What is missing now in a cafe is
the clink clang of dish washing

Funny you say that Tom, and I have mentioned on here before about the noise of cutlery and crockery in café's in the 1960s, the bigger the cafeterior, the more noise there was, and Lewis's in Blackpool was particularly noisy, as was the cafeteria in Lowes in Wigan

It might have been yoo that made me aware of the absence of washing up noises previously Tommy and I had a ' flashback' in BlackPool,
Owd Codger, A trip to Blackpool without Fish chips n peas with bread and butter in Pablo's is a null and void outing and you can claim a full refund, Its unthinkable,,,,,
