WILKO

Started by: ena malcup (4151)

On TV News, just. latest one to get into difficulties.

Says they have called in administrators to seek a rescue, should such be available.

Sad. Quite often find something in Wilko that I have spent time fruitlessly searching for elsewhere.

I have always found B&M to be better than Wilco's

Never food shopped in Wilko but their household and hardware items are cheaper than B&Q. They where on par with wallpaper supplies Some hardware items are substandard (Black spur )soft metal tools which you use once then throw them away

I've been in this morning , I like going up and down the escalators, I got some mealworms and hog meyght, not many in. no queue to pay, I like Wilko, Then I went in The Market hall for a meyght and prato pie, Then I went in the hairdressers and gave the lady there a chocolate bar, Cadburys dairy milk , She did my wifes hair yesterday and did a good job so. I made her smile today. Then I went home made a salad with home grown lettuce and tomatoes Put the warmed up pie on top and enjoyed that so much, I thought I'd share my good day with you.
Happy Thursday everyone

Tom

Why don't you right click on your photo, copy image address and post that image link, instead of the link to the page where your photo is.

Have found Wilko good for gardening requisites:

seed potatoes, very long canes (for bean poles) etc

Also for homebrew items, which seem to get more difficult to find.

In my locale, I think they have lost customers to 'The Range'.

Tom,
I have a full set of crockery just like your plate. Only come out on special occasions. The dinner plates won’t hold a decent steak.

Tommy Tee, I doff my cap to your higher standard of IT and I know you gave a lecture on that very subject only recently and I did make notes about it but, It was a day when it went in one ear and travelled throu to the other, I DO try, honestly, I'l try harder in future,

Broady we only have one set of plates and they do, full meals, snacks and picnics, I think they came from the wifes mothers when she passed away and there are only 2 left because When I'm washing up and my hands are slippy, There is oft the sound of crashing crockery and quickly followed is a shout from the other room.." That better not be My Mums best plates" at which I answer, " no Dear, its just an old one"

Tom we much be like you we use two plates of three which my mam gave us before she past away (1992) .We also have odd numbers of other items of crockery in the cupboard which we also use. We bought a 4 place setting box of crockery from large/small plates to cups/saucers with a poppy design on them from Tesco and they got used at Christmas when the tribe used to come for dinner. Not been used for a couple of years.

Tom

I hope yoo don't mind, but I do share Tonkers opinion about that pie, it looks to be very processed, and yoo never know but Greenhalgh's maybe be in the wholesale pie supply business now, supplying shops and market stalls, and it does look like a Greenhalgh pie

If not Greenhalgh's then Hollands, I bought some of their frozen ones from Asda not so long ago, and they looked like that too.

I thought Poundland was taking them over?

I thought my friend, Tommy, might have been interested in taking them over, but he's got too much on at the moment with his own shops, airline and construction!
