RIP Dougie

Bit of sad news for you all. I just had a call telling me Dougie passed away yesterday. RIP Dougie!

It's also on Ex Downall Freeners, posted by Whups, so I'm relay-posting it here.

Known Dougie for years we used to have a chat in the bowling club on Sunday nights will be sadly missed .May he rest in peace

Very sad news. he was a long time contributor to the wiganworld site. Met him on a couple of occasions and was good company RIP Dougie

Duggie was one of my best friends he was a gentleman and I can't believe that he has passed away this site will find a big loss, RIP my friend.

According to my friend, when he rang to tell me, he said it was unexpected. Bentlegs should be able to clarify,

Tonks he had attended a funeral at DG on Friday. To some people on this site he was a old REEDS man and a Member of Garswood Hall Bowling and Community Club which he visited on Tuesday afternoon's.

I was really sad to hear of the death of Dougie.

Dougie was the only WW member that I know I have met in real life, and it was such a long time ago (1950's).

I was really surprised that he remembered me, though a recent comment which he posted confirmed that he certainly did.

Condolences to all those who were close to Dougie.

Dougie's funeral will be held at
St Helens Crematorium on Friday 28th April at 3pm followed by a reception at
Garswood Hall Bowling Club, Nichol Road, Ashton in Makerfield.

Only just found out that Doug Yates has passed away, very saddened to hear this, i was only talking to him a short while ago in Holy trinity graveyard, where he was tidying up as he always did.
