Where is everybody going..................
Anne's going to Buxton, Jathbee's going to Keswick, Billinge B's going to his abode on wheels, Tonker's going to Spain, Plummy will no doubt be off on his bike all over the north west (not all at the same time). Where is everyone going?

Plummy: Ever so good luck. They've been blocking the fuel sites in Scotland, so keep filling up. Is he flying in to Glasgow? Enjoy it, life is extremely short.

You can't beat Llandudno for a short break. MUCH BETTER than Blackpool. Thank goodness the bay hasn't got a sandy beach otherwise it would be inundated.. In saying that the other side of Landudno on the River Dee, does have a nice sandy beach with plenty of cockles<g> Just been watching a 3 part programme about Llandudno Pier. Got me yearning for a short break there

Some good short breaks in the UK if you go looking.

Going to Newquay in Wales in September. And hoping to make it to Benidorm in September too. It will be a first for me, never really fancied it but friends can be very persuasive. And hopefully a few day trips in between.
Good thread Platty.

I won't have time to travel as we have four sets of visitors from the UK between July and September. A queue thanks to Covid. Hopefully a bit of pampering in Mexico before Xmas. then back to the Reef in February and the cycle starts again.

Tonks: Are you going to organise an outing for WW to Chester Zoo?
For his birthday I bought my grandson a subscription to Chester Zoo. It's what he asked for, he's 7. He sponsors the 2 toed sloth and, besides lots of other stuff, he's got his name on the plaque for a year on their housing. He's very happy.

My trip to Keswick was very enjoyable. A lovely little place. We found a very nice, eat in chippy, which served alcohol. The fish and chips were lovely, the wine not so It was called The Keswickian Just in case anyone visits there.

jathbee: I was in Keswick last year, I felt, as in most of the Lake District now, that the place had declined somewhat. I remember being there years ago over a Christmas week, it was freezing, but it was almost magical.
Kendal is another place, but walking in the surrounds of Kendal, the two castles, the river, is quite nice.
Keswick has a superb bookshop.
