It will have been hibernating, and the warm whether last week, will have woken it up, and this week wiv the cold snap, it probably thinks it would have been better off, if it had stopped asleep

Yes well don't give up, Mine came late, Last year he came on the Equinox 21/3/21, for some reason he's a week late, Also had a mating couple and I made a XXXX movie of the pair in the greenhouse, The video had a million hits as I named it,
" young couple making love in a greenhouse"

That's terrific. Mine has been back for 3 weeks now, but it's very sheltered where he appears.

The nearest thing to a hedgehog I have seen in the garden is a Porcupine and I don’t want to see another.

you get some weird and wonderful critters over there broady, Black bears are not uncommon in Truro, I used to like walking in the woods until I found out they are wondering all over Novia Scotia, Its common for them to travel in a 30 miles radius, Also cayotes can be a danger too, I've seen many snakes too in the wood piles for the wood burner, thankfully though, none are venomous ,

We had a bobcat on the front lawn three times in a day last year. Mummy, Daddy and two cubs were pictured all over the place for weeks.

Generally speaking Canadians respect animals and learn to live with them unlike their trigger happy American neighbours who, Think the animals are targets for them to shoot at,

My son, a neighbour of broady's, says about bears: If it's brown, lie down; if it's black, fight back.

Our hedgehog, " Hoggy Murrs " returned last week and has been in the garden every night since. Not seen the squirrels yet this year though.
