Apparently, people are saying he wants to employ someone to clean the 15 in pem, as no way has that been cleaned before it reopened, so the regulars go in the Swan.

Which pubs does he own ?

He has bought the old Main GPO on Wallgate, which unbeknown to a lot of people has the old sorting office at the back of it, which means it is quite a large building, I wonder if he will call it what it was known to everyone has

As a young Bobby on the beat in Ashton mid 80's...the said Tony Callaghan also a young lad had a card stall in the Palace arcade on Bryn Street. His first venture was a club "Jekyls of Hyde" in Hyde... Was a bit rough there... He has done well for himself and I often give him a wave when outside his Roby Mill home.

The lad has done well for himself. And fair play to him. He has worked hard to get where he is today.
If I remember rightly he used to sell ice cream from his ice cream van. Good luck to to him. He deserves to reap the rewards from his hard graft.

how can he start up again when he went bankrupt?

You are able to remain self-employed as a sole trader once declared bankrupt so long as you trade under your own name, or the name you used when declaring the bankruptcy.

what about if he owed anybody, does that get written off?

Replied: 6th Oct 2021 at 10:54

After you've been declared bankrupt, your creditors will write off your unsecured debts. ... When your bankruptcy ends, you'll be 'discharged' from it. If you go bankrupt you may find it difficult to take out any further credit, as bankruptcy will remain on your credit file for six years.

So far as I'm aware Tony has never been bankrupt. As regards his new ventures, is one in Higher Ince, used to be the Royal Hotel near the Squirrel. Looks like it's going to be opening as a pub again. Looks good.

Not Tony's doing the Royal, WN1. They are flats, some have already moved in. They have kept the pub facia as it was and it looks pretty good.

WN1 Standisher, we wondered if the Royal Hotel in Ince was to reopen as a pub as it has Warrington Walker Ales on the new windows, yet the approved planning application from 2019 was for ‘Change of use of existing public house to 6 apartments’.

I Didn't know that, Gaffer?
I think he had an Uncle Eric who played rugby.
Eric had a pub in Platt Bridge, the Victoria. Then he ran the Saracens Head on Wigan Lane.

NJ,
I see the Village Idiot has you in his sights again. Usual attempted bullying of the female gender. “ Like a puppy when it see’s it’s owner”. How ironic that someone who follows a couple of contributors round like a lap dog should say that. There again he will latch on to anyone that replies to his inane comments. Very similar to a stray dog.

He's on about you Brush degrading females the way you do on a public forum and have done for years, it's no wonder women are afraid to go out alone with scum like you who have nothing but contempt for and an ingrained prejudice against women, and as Broady has mentioned your wife.

Still if it makes you feel like a real man carry on. Man of the year? Pfft!

I wish owners of town centre buildings would keep heritage buildings in a good state, Grimes Arcade is boarded up and looking very shabby, if it's true that Callaghan has plenty of money.

Basil Brush his pub company was liquidated twice and he bought back some of the premises https://www.thebusinessdesk.com/northwest/news/18970-receivers-called-in-at-yesteryear-pub-co
