Caught Short.

Started by: Billinge Biker (2384)

Now this is a tale of woe... For many years I have been mault with a fikkle bowel.... Usually managed alright with diet and medication... Today I had to pick my lad up from work as his car is waiting for a new clutch etc etc... Her indoors mentioned the fact that the quiche she had made the day before was awaiting my disposal... And so it was disposed.
Having troughed said quiche I lounged on couch watching the clock to set off to pick the lad up.. Off I set at appointed time... Billinge to Haydock 15 mins.. Nae botha. 5 mins into journey rumble rumble rumble of impending doom.. What do I do.. Turn around and go to ablotuions or carry on? Foolishly and should of known better I carry on.. O. M. G. Somewhere in Garswood it was impending doom.. I had to abandon car... Grab bog roll from boot (Learned from previous experience) and head behind some bushes of nearby field.... Twas a matter of life and death... Never in all my days caught like that and hopefully never again... And to make it worse... Got too near nettles and got walloped by them.. The moral of the story.... Always carry a bog roll in your boot.. You never know.... Sorry to share this tale... But ye gods.. When you have to go... You go... Anybody any similar stories.? Her indoors thought it was hilarious but denied her quiche was the cause.

My Bro's Missus had a bowel cancer a while back, It was caught early and after a operation and cemo she was clear of cancer but since then, She can't control her movements, When she needs to go, she needs to go right away, Its completely changed how they plan every day life,

people shy away from discussing bowel problems don't they? so well done billinge biker for sharing your story and maybe it will help others who have to cope. Glad you were able to stop your car in time!

Nutha Top Tip.
5ltr plastic screw top container.
Cut in half across middle... Voila.. His and hers emergency pee containers... Yes done this one as well... Stuck on the M6.. Motorway closed both directions person threatening to jump off bridge... 3 hrs later stranded travellers start climbing embankments for relief... Break out the container... Marvellous in the comfort of your own car. Top half fits into. Bottom half for storage.

Peter….are you now allowed into disabled toilets to assist your wife? I ask this because a number of years ago whilst waiting to use the ladies I was asked by a gent if I would go and see if his wife was ok. She suffered from early dementia, when I found her she was having difficulty finding her way out.

I have suffered from IBS for many years . It really is not very nice.
Whenever we go anywhere I always take my "emergency kit" with me. And like someone has already said wherever we go the top priority is to make sure we know where the toilets are.
Trouble is it's an invisible disability and people are not very understanding.

me and Lady Platty love hiking. She started to get shorted and we looked up what these long distance hikers/walkers do. she has a pee set now and putting jumpers round waist for squatting --- all sorts of ideas. but need to keep life going. most important.

As a plumber working in houses where the water was off for a long time, A lenor bottle was an essential container, it has a very wide top, I'm not bragging but all other bottles need a steady hand and good aim, A lenor bottle is a ' one size fits all' in mens bits,

Last year in that first lockdown, when all of the public toilets had been closed, and working a few miles from home, I bought one of these LINK but I never actually used it

yes pewfall I do know that but, It tends to put folks off from eating them, Like when I worked in the butchers and the owner said after letting a joint of beef fall on the sawdust,
" what the eye does not see, will not effect the taste" ,,

I have Crohns and this a story of my life! Not nice but I'm used to it, I have a key for disabled toilets and I have a "Can't wait" card from Crohns and Colitis UK. I'm on an infusion every 8 weeks, Vedoluzimab.

it's going to be harder now that people with hidden disabilities can use the toilets.
