After reading YET again the ever increasing number of ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS getting across the English Channel is breaking all records ,an estimated 1,000 in one day , Ms PATEL Has told a packed commons that she is not happy with her French Counterpart Gerald Darmanin ,she has words with also at the G7 Meeting's in London .Apparently there has been an agreement with the French to more than double the numbers of FRENCH POLICE patrolling the beaches to stop them getting here.. She has said that if things do not get better then she MIGHT /MIGHT start to withhold the money that had been agreed ,,some £ 54 MILLION POUNDS ... In the mean time some 9, 750 ILLEGALS HAVE LANDED ASHORE !!! ( I cannot find figure for those who have been sent back to FRANCE))) All i ask is why can't we fortify the beaches like we did in 1940 ,, roll out the barbed wire and other countereffects WHY ????? Because the upshot would be hundreds possibly thousands of men women and children dying. Going off your endless negative comments on the subject it would appear to be a possibility you are not concerned about and a situation you are comfortable with. Fortunately, unlike yourself it would seem our government values human lives and is prepared to help those less fortunate than you and I................and quite rightly so if you ask me.

I understand what Alan is getting at. I fully support taking in Afghani refugees who are fleeing the Taliban. They needed to get out as quick as possible and help should be given. But many of those arriving with the help of people traffickers have travelled across Europe. Some may be genuine cases and hopefully will be assessed but some I'm sure are not genuine asylum seekers fleeing from persecution. I thought the first safe country they reach should offer asylum? [but I could be wrong on this]

Agree GB. Patel has filled planes to send back but Abbot and her mates complained. One plane was full of paedophiles, smugglers, rapists but Abbot objected.
I have no objection to controlled immigration but the current situation is shoring up trouble. Hi Platty,, I would just wish to say thank you for your comments , i feel i have to go on record and state that some 40/50 ago i was never like this ,it's just a matter of seeing things differently especially when one gets old , and rightly have you have said iv'e worked damned bloody hard all of my working life ,iv'e never asked for anything just earned and payed my taxes like millions of people akin to me . I did some work for some Pakistanis in Bolton.
A couple, three kids, not short of a few bob.
His mother, 86 years old, never been to England, lived in Lahore, Pakistan.
She was brought from Lahore to Bolton, to their large house. A 'disabled living accommodation'was constructed adjoining their house, all disabled living equipment provided including disabled bathroom and toilet. A care package arranged for the old lady (4 visits a day, 2 carers per visit).
All ground floor internal doors removed, widened, and replaced with solid oak doors all through to accommodate wheelchair access.

All this was paid for by Bolton occupatuional health.

At the time, my own mum was bedridden, having suffered a brain hemorrhage which paralysed her.
She was paying £602 a week for the same care package, for two years before the council reduced it to £376.

The difference? My mum, English born, had worked from 14 to 65, paid her NI, tax, two private pensions and had never claimed a penny, had to pay.
The Pakistani woman had never been to England before, never worked, never paid a penny, yet got everything for nothing, even though her relatives, who live in England, are Bolton business people who are quite afluent.

years ago there were houses on marsh bonk that were suitable for some disabled people, stairlift, low down kitchen units, apparently, they ripped them all out, chucked them in a skip put some new units in and moved immigrants in.
