Hindley Cemetery Chapel

Hindley Cemetery & Chapel CIC took over the running and management of the building from Wigan Council via a community asset transfer, which is explained - here. The plan is to turn the disused chapel into a community hub. (Wigan Today, April 2021)

All my family are in there.

A few of my distant relatives are buried in Hindley Cemetery as well, Sonlyme.

Volunteering Opportunities



Various ongoing projects incl. litter picking and recycling project / building and site clearance work / create wildflower meadow / walk leaders / refreshment making / craft, pot making / volunteers for open days and fundraising events. Admin support.
