Takeaway beer?

Started by: riocaroni (203)

I've read on the Internet and in the papers about the godsend to pubs of being able to sell takeaway pints from 12th of April instead of having to wait until the 17th of may. Can I just ask how many on here have bought a takeaway pint from a pub? I very much doubt anyone would pay 4 or 5 quid for a pint when you can get four cans from a shop for 5 pound. Just wondering?

I would't no, not at any price, the whole point in going in a pub is to enjoy the ambiance and company, Not stand about on the carpark,

Asda sell 10 x cans of Carling for £10, if you buy 3 you can have them for £21 which makes it even cheaper, Thats works out at 75p for a 440ml can, Its not a pint, it works out about 3/4 of a pint, a gobfull less for 75p,
Why would you pay £5 for a pint to drink in a carpark and have to take the glass back ?,

the carpark thing's not floating my boat either Tom...or the five pound
a pint. A couple of pints or three round the bowling green at GH on a summers evening will do for me

Sounds like it will be a very unpleasant experience to me. I'll wait until we are allowed to sit in a beer garden , with hopefully, the sun shining down on us. It won't be a pint for me though. A nice cold glass of Sauvignon Blanc will be my chosen tipple.
