I reckon she would have happily done the sprouts for us. Sadly we need a new volunteer.
Plus someone to do the roast spuds
And what about the turkey ?

On Christmas Eve after getting everything in order for the 'big day' I like to sit in the garden no matter the weather and look up at the stars with a few tears in the old eyes thinking of those who can't be with me.
What a maudlin sod.
Christmas Day we shall gather as permitted this years, and I will thank the good Lord for those we have with us now.
A Merry Christmas to us all, God bless us, every one!

We are in lockdown. No visitors and no visiting so pretty quiet. Not to worry. No shortage of food and drink. Temps forecast to hover around zero but already got the white stuff. A Merry Christmas and all the best for 2021 to the “ decent posters”

Well despite being inundated with phone calls from friends and family, me and Mrs Brush we are staying put, no travelling or having anyone coming to us.
I shall do what I have done for many years and supervise her while she cooks everything.

Yep, I too shall be alone this Christmas Day. Was invited to spend the day with my brother but he was in an accident earlier in the year so I've opted not to go.
So, I've bought meself a nice lickle chicking for me Christmas din-dins which I'll cook later today, along with some roasted spuds, Julienne of carruts, sweet corn, sautéed sprouts, a lickle piggy in a blanket and some most tasteyful gravy.
Hope you all have a lovely Christmas, and a much happier New Year.
Oh, and I've bookmarked Home Alone for my film to watch today! I watched the black and white version of owd Scrooge with Alistair Sim last night. A must for me over Christmas.

I am usually invited to next door neighbours but with numbers restricted it will be some of their family members only. They will bring Christmas dinner to me along with the promise of them singing carols.
Certainly different this year.

I’ve had a hearty breakfast of Ardennes Pate on wholemeal toast, and a lunch of Lobster Bisque soup.
We’ll get a local afternoon walk in this arvo, but only 2C is forecast, so it’s ‘taters’ brrrrrr !!!!!!.
A traditional Christmas turkey evening dinner (tea) with all the trimmings at around 5-30, washed down with a glass of Spanish Cava.
Then settle down for some telly in my leather armchair, ‘Home Alone’ is on tonight, my favourite Christmas film ever.
Later on, a few scoops of Merlot.
Christmas Day sounds good.
My only regret is that because of Covid we won’t get to see our Daughter and her hubby who live in North Wales, we haven’t seen them since Boxing Day 2019.
This is to wish all Wigan World members and their families a very Happy Christmas and a much better 2021.
Replied: 25th Dec 2020 at 14:10
Mine is only just starting. Warmer here than Wigan. No walk today. Had two yesterday. One at -10 the other at +5. Merry Christmas.
