Ghost Sign .....

Started by: tonker (27933)

..... advertising Bile Beans!

Well, I've spotted one, on the A6 at Walkden. It's appeared on an end terraced house gable after a 'paste-on' hoarding has been shifted.

I'm going to take it's picture on my way past next week. I hope they don't cover it up first !

Coming back from Stoke earlier, there was a trailer parked in a farmers field. No advertising, just a lot of Islamic tripe.

No. There's no such thing. It's Arabic.

There's a black container parked in a farmers field, off the north-bound M6, with Arabic writing on it in white.

There's also two containers, one off the M40,the other off the M6 near Birmingham, advertising "PHANTOM CARS"!

There is one on the gable end of a cottage just higher up than the BEN JOHNSON pub. Appears that this was the original BEN JOHNSON pub. You can easily make it out as you drive towards town just before the lights at Sainsbury's

I didn’t know about that, TTS. It is indeed the old Royal Court Theatre building on King Street.

Yes I think they got two of them for it, one was a lad from Scholes, and it was a homophobic attack, and a nasty one too.

I think the lad who got murdered worked at Eckersleys. Think it was down the opposite entrance where the old British Restaurant used to be?

Rio,
Did you ever know old Joe Gough. I last worked with him around 1980. Used to pick him up near the Wheel.

Knew Joe well, did you know he was the last resident of the Royal George workhouse in Scholes. Told many a good tale of being a can lad on the building sights, he was a real character sadly missed.
