What I like about Ancestry is being able to make contact with others searching same families. Through this I have made contact with family in other parts of the uk plus, Canada, America and New Zealand. Also to share info both ways with others sharing distant links. Sometimes when I have got stuck I will leave the search for a while and in due course other data is added to the site.

Ancestry regularly does a free weekend on some bank holidays, i use it then, get registered to take advantage of this, if you like it you can pay for it, i think its ok but i am too tight to pay, maybe they will do a freebie on august bank holiday.

For me paying for it is worth it as I often take on searches for friends, so I have the freedom with timing

I suspect that Sarah's father Thomas Langton was the youngest of the 7 brothers of my 2x great grandmother Eleanor Langton.Unfortunately I can only find his marriage to an Ann Ascroft not Ellen
