Have you heard of one of my favourites..."wallgate gateau" ?

Ham salad barm cake with a mey't and tater pie in the middle.
Lived off them when I was on the bikes at manchester and bolton..also educated them into the finer art of pie eytin ????

Leigh had a pie in a buttered barmcake in the 50s,it cost 3d,or 80 for £1,it was a called a 3d slap..

As a Lancashire lad now living in the Midlands, I can't get any decent pies locally. So now buy online from Bowens in Chorley. lovely meat & potato, plus pork pies covered in lovely jelly. I remember Yates Greer's in Leigh baking lovely pork pies in the 50s.

You can buy Bowens pies at Robinson shop on Preston road Standish, yes they are very good

Your are right I do get out and a bout a lot, but todays adventure was by my Hybrid car.
Today me and the missis drove up the M6 to Kendall, then came back down via Milnthorpe, Carnforth, past Tyson Furys house at Hest Bank and Morcambe.
