Look At THIS Car ....

Started by: tonker (28005)

.... I followed it through Ashton and couldn't figure out what make it was! It's an oldish one and looks like one of the 60's luxury models, but I don't know which.

It's the black one here, Centre of Picture. The reg number looks to be FLX 737C? There's nothing for that plate on the dvla site!

The registration plate is for a blue Bentley - FLW 797 C therefore 1965 - and it is taxed, and exempt from MoT because it's over 40 years old.

mollie.... no road tax or MOT needed for 40plus year old cars/bikes, only insurance. They do need to be registered for for public highway use.

Well Done StarDelta! You were the first to get it and, therefore, you win an Orange (or a Kit-Kat) for being the first.

However, I received a message this morning from Mac, off Wigan Rejects, who suspects that you'd somehow cheated. I told him, I don't know how you could, but he says you have your ways and means. So, StarDelta, your earth-point has wandered and "You're Fired"!

Therefore, in accordance to the rules, the prize of an Orange (or a Kit-Kat) goes to MollieM for coming up with the correct registration number and NAMING THAT CAR!

As a bonus - I looked the car up, using MollieM's registration and I found a photo of it, on FlickR, on display at
Lancashire Classic Car Show !

I, like many others with an interest in classic cars know what a S3 Chinese eye continental looks like, from both ends, simple as that.

If certain people don't like the fact, and is seems some don't......tough ti***

Big orange!!

Now I understand Tonker's post on a different thread (a bit slow on the uptake obviously ).

To me it was always a toffee apple.

That recognition was a good spot Stardelta, I thought it looked familiar too but couldn't quite place it. I went all over tinternet and still couldn't find it.

I'll bet you've never seen one of THESE !, which looks very much like the one, in Ashton, I didn't recognise, but a lot newer!

I came across that picture after I saw, for sale, one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen!

Ooh ta Tonker! I'll take the orange please as I don't like chocolate.

Of course it needs to be taxed and insured if used on the road. No question about that, but no MoT necessary, which is what I said.

''Twas only last week I wanted to take my 40+ year old car off the SORN register but had some difficulties because many PO don't do road tax. The one PO I found locally constantly insisted I pay £165, he had no idea what was required. Did it eventually, now waiting for better weather.

MollieM, no M.o.T., no Tax. You don't have to pay anything, but you have to 'go through the motions', kind of thing!
