I was just talking to a friend who works in the media, last night. We both agreed. What has society become? People who have no respect for anyone or anything. I find that the majority of young people today do have a lot of feelings and compassion towards their unfortunate fellow man, Others haven't one iota of moral decency, good will or respect.SCUM

Whoever has burned his tent down is likely to do it again, particularly with all the attention it has received, the perpetrator will do it again, to get the same buzz out of it again.

Then there is the copycat nutters who will want a piece of it, so they may go for Kevin too.

You see I think that a lot of people fantasise about the idea of living off grid with no bills to pay etc ....

However maybe the wilds of Lower Ince, may not be the best place to doo it

There along with the close proximity to Worsley Mesnes, an off grider really needs to be armed to the teeth, to survive

Yoo see because it is a shithouse of a world Tom

So I would recommend that for the rest of the summer, Kevin should go 'walkabout' pretend that he is an Australian aborigine,, and hide his stuff and bugger off with a tent in his backpack and head off to Tinkers Bubble

Tinkers Bubble

Live there until the heat dies down and return to Wigan at the onset of winter, when the bad people have forgotten all about him ....

Yes well done to Tom and all the other people who have helped him, but with it being common knowledge that he is down there now, I don't think that he is safe.

his"cure" lies solely in his own hands,a friend of mine see,s him regularly.he needs to want treatment, his addiction is holding him back,he must want to regain his place in society.
nevertheless he needs to be treated with respect and dignity.

Its not that simple BB, he is alcohol dependent and knows it, If it was that easy to gain control people like George Best would still be alive,
Its his choice to live in the woods in a tent, he's done it for 11 years, Summer,Autumn,Winter and spring, He goes to the shops in for a natter with folks and hope they buy him a drink and a bit of tobbacco, then he goes back into the woods to be alone, He looks at the houses in the distance and says to me " That the nearest I want to be to a house" He's happy in the woods, He knows he can get shelter in St georges hall, or fake illness and spent time in the A+E or cause trouble and get a cell for a night, but he does not want that, He loves it in the woods, back in society is not on the cards for him,

Yes, but he would be better off living 'off grid' in somewhere like Alaska, rather than Lower Wigan, because he could then shoot bears and mooses for food and have steak every night

for an head yo cated man, yooo shud know, moose and bears are not good for eating, where as, rabbits and wood pigeons are, Kevin eats neither, his only hot meals are chips n peas from the chinky chippy, other than that its cold soop or pot noodle,

i am aware of his predicament ,but his only hope his within himself,no amount of persuasion will alter his mindset,he must want to get "better"himself.
does he really want to die alone unfound and unloved.

BB, he is not unloved, this last week proved that, he might die alone and thats the way he would want it, he will not lose his dignity by laying in a hospital bed with weeping people watching him go, he is his own person, no one will change that, he lives his life like he wants to, he's a feral, untamed, human thats bucked the system, I envy him in a way because i have not the guts nor strength to live like nature intended us, If the world exploded today, Only He Keef Richards and flies would survive,

Have you seen this Tom , its on Facebook.

"This is just an insight into the homeless man who everybody feels sorry for on poolstock!
He has been at the front of the shops on poolstock for months now and he makes everybody feel sorry for him. All we hear is "kevs alright" well I am telling you he isn't.
I had a lady today that parked her courtesy car at the front of the salon, kev walked past with his bike and belongings and all she did was look through the window... kev then when into a barrage of abuse because she looked at him ("down her nose") supposedly. He was walking up and down past the shop swearing and continued to her a f###ing c##t!!!!
I asked him to stop swearing as there was a little boy in the salon and he told me to f##ck off!! I know people think they are doing a good deed handing him a 3ltr bottle of cider or 4 cans but they can just go home and leave us with the aftermath. When I locked up I asked him had he calmed down and he started again. I really cannot repeat on here what he said as it is so disgusting. The man who owns the roadside came out to see what was happening and Kev then hurled bad racist abuse at him. Told him to get back to his own country amongst other things I again cannot repeat! It was appalling considering he let's him charge his phone everyday and store the things people buy him In his fridges. Well no more charging for him or help from us.
So please before you buy him anything else just think, that could very easily have been your mum or grandma he was abusing and he couldn't care less.
Some people think the world owes them a living and need to take responsibility for their own actions.. it's nobody else's fault!
I know people will probably disagree on here but enough is enough. Let him Come and sit on your front and see how you like it. We are just trying to run our businesses and decent people shouldn't have to put up with that on a Tuesday afternoon. The lady was scared to go outside so I had to take her to her car!!
What a day!!!! Xx"

I dunno TTS, I'll ask for his account when i see him, I've been out of town for 2 days, It sounds out of character to me and he is vulnerable in that he is a target for people, I was there one day when the bloke cane out of the house directly near the shops and blamed him for the litter near the shops, he blamed him for the wall falling down and blamed him for all the cig stumps lying about, I'll report back what I find out,

Its a long story that goes back to his yoof, he does not get on with his sister, nor his brother but, his Mum still loves him and sends money for alcohol, All that he is, is brought on by bad luck and circumstances, he is a human being and proud to have served this country, someone looking down their nose at him, would not go down well,

he needs to get his head up and re-join society, easier said than done but nowts impossible without effort.
his lifestyle and appearance can hardly give people the right message,so to look up to him is perhaps a little askew. human nature is to give him a queer look and wide berth.

tommy two stroke,

I've asked Kevin for the account in his own words,
Yes there was an altercation between the hair dresser and himself, She does not want him in front of her shop, he see's it as a public space and has a right to be there, and does not intend to move, A PCSO came to see him there, The PCSO knows him and did not see reason to move him on,There are camera's at the from of the shops but, no one offered any footage of Kevin missbehaving,
In my view, people should not give a man a bad name without proving what they say,
in this case, actions speak louder than words, the action being the PCSO found no reason to move him on,

Tom

The Facebook topic I quoted from above in red was, taken off the same night, and this was explained the day after, when the someone asked why the topic had been taken off, and a moderator explained that folk were getting nasty on it, so they decided to pull it, and I can't find that second topic, so I presume that was pulled too, so the best I can doo, is to quote from the text I copied and pasted in red.

On about Kevin though, I suppose like he said, that he could be a magnate for the hairdressers and off licence, because he is bringing them trade in, and it looks as though that when he is not being an arsehole, he is a nice enough chap

The BBC should do a documentary about him, and he could be Poolstock's answer to Fred Dibnah

If someone looked down at you, how would you react ? Its discrimination but because he's a white male, there's no crime committed, its still belittling a fellow human

I can see the hair dressers point, he does not benefit her business at all, whereas the off licence does gain business because people buy extra to give to Kevin,My point is, he is a human being and in my view a good human being, she's attacked his character, which is wrong and if he was a of anything different from a white British male, she would have to answer to the authorities,
