Looks good perhaps we can now get some decent artists performing there instead of us have to keep travelling out of town

It's an awe-inspiring, prominent building with amazing architecture.... NOT!!
It looks like a warehouse for a catalogue company, it's a disgraceful carbuncle.
Do so hope that Wigan Council have nothing to do with the running of it or it will look like the building 100 yards away just over the canal the eyesore Wigan Pier withing 2 years.

I think The Edge looks fine, Turbo, particularly in the arty photographs.

Who owns the EDGE? And just what is it's main use ? Just hope Wigan Council do not have any finger's in it . I await my question .

Today’s Community Church own it, Golden Bear - from Wigan Today (2014):

"Grants have been applied for but the congregation are said already to have pledged a substantial amount of money towards it.

The church would get first refusal on the building’s use, but the intention is to hire it out for public use."

I remember being invited to a service at TCC some years ago.

It was quite full, and at the end, after much clapping and singing, a boys' band appeared. This resulted in much more hysteria. I found this unsettling and felt slightly embarrassed. Then the collection at the end started. No plate was passed along, but instead, large dustbins appeared, and the locals started to fill them. I was aghast at this, and decided on the spot, not to give.

Apparently, the couple that run this place live locally and have since become very rich.

Sunshine House in Scholes don't charge for membership you just pay a very low price for the food available. Seems everyone wants to make money out of the poorest these days.

TerryW, Sunshine House did once charge a small annual membership fee, but I think they’ve waived it with the Covid situation.

Oh right didn't know that, glad they waived it though. Thanks Jo Anne.
