just had my grand kids with me for the weekend and took them to the pictures in Bolton watching Eragon, really enjoyed but my point is, we went on Sunday morning for the 12 noon show and when the film started there were 8 people watching. Now I know there are 15 screens all starting at different times but surely they cannot be making a profit with so few people attending the shows, now I'm asking everyone one on this site including our colonial relatives when was the last time you attended the cinema and what film did you watch, I must admit since my wife died I have seen more films in 2 years than I saw in the previous 34, up to now the best being the latest James Bond with Daniel Craig Brilliant film!!!!!?.

Late 1980s or thereabouts.
Took my lad watching The Flintstones, it was showing at The Ritz.
He thought the film was great and was made up with the big screen and really loud soundtrack. Yabba Dabba Doo

Been thinking about this for 2 days, can't remember!
I did want to go to see the Geisha Memoirs but my plumbing got blocked up so I had to wait for the plumber! Ended up getting it out on DVD - loved it.

All the profit cinemas make Aitch is from the concessions sales - popcorn, hot dogs etc - they make v little from the film itself.
Also in most cases the times and even which screen the film is shown in, is dictated by a central office.
Remember there has to be enough time to show a film and re-thread etc whilst dealing with al the others
And be thankful you were there with 8 others - maybe you even got to hear and see the film!
