Hi. Elizabeth and Sandra. I am stuck with my 4XGreat grandfather who was John Cobley but all I know that he came from either Minehead or Taunton B. about 1753 married a Mary Pool(e) in 1784. Mary B about 1754. I think John died at age 62 about 1815. As far as I can find out they had only one child who was Thomas B.1788. I would like to know where John lived firstly with his mother and father and then with Mary and child and any other details which can be found.ELIZABETH can you tell me how you managed to get so far back, thats amazing!! Christi, well Ihave scrolled through abt 500 names and more to go , and most COBLEY AROUND THAT DATE ORIGINATE from Publow YOU have a Mary b/c 1787== I have Mary b 1786 Publow Somerset her mother and father = Sarah Cobley nee Rogers married Sam Cobley they have about 12=14 children looking at the Cobleys of Peblow Somerset they were fond of going to America Pennsilvania also Australia , if you give me your e mail address I wil type out all these details I have got and send to you perhaps if you get some certificates that may help you more . you must never take the date of births as correct unless you have the certificate I will carry on looking until I hear from you

WoW Sandra, YES it is. Anything you can find is very acceptable. Would it also be possible to go further back in time? Once the Census stops in 1841 it can be so hard to find out much else(so I am told). I think they had a son named john, and also Thomas' father was John!!!!! THANS Soooooo Much I am delighted.

I have been yrs looking for a Lizzie WELSTY as on 1881 Census born Goole not trace whatsoever just last week found out her name was Lizzie WEBSTER born in Goole and . You cannot trust every name as people were not very literate in those days and wrote down what they heard ,her father Stephen Beauleu Webster died in Wigan about Dec 1864
