How does a parent become a failure?

Started by: madamehmurray (6265)

I feel I am a failure at it. You keep doing things for them over and over again. Then they just stabbed you in the back. The kids just want more, more, more.

She is mad with both of us because Dave puts me ahead of her.

I'd have been peed off if my parent put a partner before me when I was a kid too.My kids come before my man any day of the week, they come before EVERYONE and everything.I got once to raise them, and I intend making sure I do a good job of it.
No one would be in my life who tried to compete with my kids.

Being a parent his the hardest job In the world, but I think we should give equal time to both If you want to be a family. When your kids grow up and leave you are left with your Partner, then you can devote all your time to each other.

That's the problem with kids - they don't come with a manual or rule book. Even if you buy a toaster you get a book telling you how to use it. You just have to do your best and hope they turn out alright. They will test you over and over again but you have to make a stand and stick to it. Good luck girl.

I have friends who've been married for 40 years or so and they've two children. Having a conversation with the missus half many years ago she told me that her husband would come first, middle and last in her life because the children, although she loved them dearly, were a bi-product of herself and her husband. I've heard a lot of blokes say that when the kids come along their noses are pushed out. And they wonder why blokes end up looking elsewhere. It just depends how the kids are brought up. If they're put first every time then they expect it and become jealous when a "threat" suddenly appears on the scene.

Erin I think you should start to write a book, but keep off the pizzas they are very fattening. Just get on with enjoying your life, we never know how long we are here for.
