Wigan Market And Town Centre 1988
New video posted on YouTube showing how Wigan town centre and market was back in the late 80s. Plenty people round the old market but you can tell it was on its last legs and needed knocking down. Great video that's on for over an hour.

Other Councils with Bolton as a example regenerated their old Market Halls without demolishing them!

Why knock down a perfectly good building that has stood the test of time, and build a red brick building of only thirty odd years, only then to demolish that building and spend money on yet build another building to replace the previous two
Why, because we are in Wigan and have a Council who are masters of the art of wasting money!
