Mother nature

Started by: PeterP (12489)

I bought a grape vine 3 years ago and planted in my back garden and last year I got to my surprise one bunch of grapes . This year there are 30=40 bunches of grapes which should be ready in about 2-3 weeks.. My sister gave me an ornamental twisted hazel which I pruned well back last year.It has bounced on this year and is about 8ft high .I was looking at it the other day and there are Hazel nuts growing on it.Mother nature at its finest

Peter,I started to grow grapes in the greenhouse but of course they outgrew the greenhouse and I couldn’t grow them in the garden because I have a young dog and grapes are poisonous to dogs, which was a shame ..they tasted lovely..enjoy the fruits of your labour Peter.

That’s a pity Peter, but if you want to save some for a length of time, they will freeze..in fact I bought some the other week and they’re in the freezer..very nice on a hot summer day…my hubby was also Diabetic, that’s why I started freezing them.

Peter: Mother Nature is a truly wonderful thing. It's a pity that we as humans find it necessary to destroy and take away what it gave us for free. I hope your grape vine continues to flourish. Did that Tom Plum ever show you how to put photos on here? I still want to see your pergola. By the way Peter, belated happy birthday.

Momac: Sounds like you eventually sorted out your freezer problem. I didn't know grapes could be frozen. Mind you when I do buy them (rarely) I eat them over a couple of days. Is there anything special you have to do to them before freezing?

I went round to Peter's this morning and, he was having breakfast so, I enjoyed a peaceful half hour in his pleasant garden, The ridge of his roof was lined up with birds as was the nearby Telegraph pole, he made me a cup of tea and I enjoyed it sitting on a bench seat which he informed me had been there for many years, The Lancashire rose was flying at full mast on the flag pole and the ambiance was pleasant and smoothing,
After he finished feeding his face we got down the the business of , picture posting, Peter fired up the coal fuelled computer and I tried to post a picture or two, together we eventually did manage to post a couple but, The old saying is true,,
Those that do, do, those that can't teach and, it works in reverse too.
Those that can, can't teach, but we made headway I think and the proof of the pudding is in the eating,
We may need some more tuition once todays info sinks in,

Tom, there are some photos by Peter in Handbags. Not sure I like that IMGUR thing though as photos by others are shared in there. I really must get round to downloading Tiny Pic. If I remember rightly it's very easy to use.

Hope Peter will be posting more of his garden on this board once he's cracked it. I still want to see his pergola!

I used to use Photobucket which was also quite easy, but they kept changing it so I got fed up and didn't bother any more. I then went on to Tiny Pic and I've had a look at it, but not used it yet. It does seem very easy to use. I will get round to it and show some of the photos I've taken on here. I just have to stir me stumps!

Here Tom:

I find 'ImgBB' free image hosting service easy for photos. Not for videos though!
I just found a site to upload that Winston Churchill video and that Helicopters one, but they don't last long.
