I believe you can make £7000 / year renting a room out, before you pay tax on it......that could tempt a few people.

A lot of people can't see the wood for the trees.

There is an abundance of accomodation available in the form of HM'Os and hotels.
Unfortunately they seem to be allocated to the freeloading, scrounging immigrants who seem get preference over our own homeless UK citizens

This government can't address the homeless problem of our own people. Yet, they do not hesitate to accommodate the overseas freeloaders in the available properties and top hotels.

They should reverse the situation. Find accommodation for our own people first, and then ask the public to accommodate an illegal immigrant.

The response would be very interesting.

If they can't accommodate them, send them back where they came from.

I have just watched a video of the French police wading into the sea and deflating the wannabe freeloaders dingy's.

Lets hope they continue to keep up the good work.
I hope it's a permanent thing and not just a propaganda stunt.

I 'm not building my hopes up though as they knew the BBC cameras were filming it so they could have just been "putting on a show".

The French people, all of the French people, the politicians, the police and the ordinary French folk who live near the channel coast, who have to endure those would be asylum seekers wrecking their neighbourhoods, with their camps and filth, they have all said for years that the reason they want to get to the UK, is because we give them too much when they get here, and long term we don't have an identity card system, which makes it easy for illegals to work, and we don't deport them.

Little being done because this government have too many snowflake MPs in their ranks and we are still tied to European laws about, so called asylum seekers. And this fantastic deal between Macron and Starmer is so weak and watered down, it's never going to work. And Macron is blaming Brexit for the mess.
You just couldn't make it up

You are correct in what you have said and for Macron to try and blame Brexit is pathetic when the EU has done nothing to prevent Migrants getting to Calais!

The EU should be sending them back where they came from, not us. It looks like they are assisting them on their way!

I have two spare double bedrooms, but I wouldn't have strangers in my home, regardless of race, not even for £2000 a week!

There are so many buildings that are standing empty, but in reasonable condition, so you'd think someone with the know how would buy them, spruce them up to habitable condition, then let them out but then, who'd have to pay for their accommodation? Us, the taxpayers!

There are plenty of Islands off Scotland which could accommodate the boat people. House them there with food and water etc . No phone signal so they cannot phone their mates to either don't come or wanting to go home. How much would it cost to put cabins and ancillary equipment om a island compared with the £5-5million a DAY it is costing to house them on the main land.Make life hard for them and they will think twice about coming over here
