Bad Knees

Started by: PeterP (12351)

I have suffered with bad knees for years but it as got that bad I went to my doctors(Medicentre in Ashton) yesterday for an appointment. I told the receptionist my problem and she said I did not need to see the doctor and would get a phone call within 48 hrs.In less than 2 hrs I received a phone call from the Swan Primary Care Network and got an appointment for an assessment on Friday at 10-30 at the Medicentre independent from my own doctor

Be carful Peter it might be a scam, I've heard some of these private hospitals get you drugged up and then get lovely Thai nurse to take your bank details before they carry on with operation.
When you wake up, you will have a stiff leg and no money.

You've been 'handed over' to a privatised section of the NHS., Peter!

Tom I had a 21 speed mountain bike and used to think nothing of riding along the canal to the top lock and back plus other places . Then I found my knees were swelling up so cut back on riding my bike.My knees were knackered with walking /crawling down the pit. Told years ago I needed a left knee replacement and my right knee was not much better but was too young to have them done 15 to 20 years later they have given up on me and I am also getting striking pains in my hip.

Peter, there is an old saying that's true

" use it or lose it" and in 2025 you can get an E bike which will take the hardship out of getting up to the top lock and give you the freedom of movement and the enjoyability of getting out keeping mobile, I believe your Brother Phil has one , You still gotta pedal but, not as hard as your old 21 gear push iron, I'll be out tomorrow with our gang of lycra clad Hells Grannies,
Our chapter name is, The wheelie old spokes and, I'm the second oldest of the gang but. the newest member,
