Misinformation or Disinformation

Is there a difference?

Misinformation. Is false or misleading information that is spread without the intent to deceive. It can happen when someone unknowingly shares incorrect facts or rumors.
Disinformation. On the other hand, is deliberately false information spread with the intent to mislead or manipulate people—often for political, financial, or ideological reasons.

Libel is when the false statement is written – like in a newspaper or in a social media post. Slander is when the false statement is spoken
