Net zero, Tony to Sir Kier

Sir Tony Blair has attacked Sir Keir Starmer’s net zero plans and called for a radical reset of the Government’s green agenda.
The former prime minister said it was wrong that people were “being asked to make financial sacrifices and changes in lifestyle when they know that their impact on global emissions is minimal”.
In a significant intervention, he said politicians must face the “inconvenient facts” which show that any strategy based on phasing out fossil fuels was “doomed to fail”.
Sir Tony has been advising the Prime Minister in an informal capacity since he won the election last year.
It comes as Ed Miliband, the Energy Secretary, faces mounting questions about his green strategy a day after Spain and Portugal were plunged into a nationwide power cut blamed by experts on a reliance on renewable energy.
The former Labour leader’s language echoes that of Kemi Badenoch, the Conservative leader, who has said the Government’s 2050 net zero commitments are not possible.

Well yes, yon Tony let in the EU immigrants, but I suppose as we were in the EU at the time, he had no choice in the matter, except that if he had been given the choice in 2004, he would probably have chosen to let them in anyway, because he was such an ardent admirer of the EU.

I only know that as a result of Labour's policies my eldest daughter has informed me today that she has been made redundant, something she never feared happening under the fourteen years of the previous govenment,

They are no longer the party for "working" people and time that some realised the fact!

A few of the muppets kept coming on here when the Tories were in power but seemed to have disappeared over recent weeks.

surfer tom

Do you ever read the news as thousands of Labour voters are far from happy with the way the country is being run in only nine months of power.

But I supposed when you have been in hibernation for a while, you are out of touch with reality!
