ANOTHER FRIDAY

Started by: mollie m (8849)

My stars they do come round quickly, don’t they? At least once a week, if not more!

I wonder where Tonker is on the planet. Here, theer or someweer else? I can’t keep up with him.

Tom’s been off on one of his cycling jaunts with his pals today, so hope he’ll have a tale to tell tonight.

Peter, did you manage to get that pear tree stump out of the ground yet?

Anyone done anything this week? Anything at all.

The only exciting thing I’ve done this week is send away a Jehova’s Witness with a flea in his ear for pestering an atheist. He said he’d pray for redemption for me. LOL!

Mollie yeah, I done a ride today and, I was't at 'match fitness' So I struggled a bit and, on getting Wom, I needed a kip ,tout sweet, So I just crashed on the couch and hopefully will feel better tomoz,
meanwhile I've poured a brace of Arthurs down my neck to hopefully get some lower bowel movements going to clear out the lingering germs that are affecting my body to move as well as it did,
How was your day ?

There y'are. I thought I was going to spend the evening talking to meself - nowt new there!

Aye, there's nowt like a good clearing out so I hope the "brace" (whatever that is) does the job. What have you had to eat today?

My day was pretty good. My colleague has been working on a big job we're contracting for so the flow from the other work I normally get from him has been very slow, but I had three tenders to prep up so it kept me out of mischief for a change.

Mollie, a ' brace of pheasants' is a game keepers term for a good meal for a game shooter to take home and from that, us drinkers use that term as a
' Brace of Arthurs' as 2 pints of Guinness' Arthur Guinness being the inventor of Guinness
anyroadup, Its good to know you're still a active and dependable member of staff in the office,

Oh I knew what a brace of pheasants were, but I didn't know what Arthur's were.

You're obviously still not A1 if you pooped out on the couch after your ride home. How far did you get today?

Peter. well done. That wasn't an easy job for a man of your age. I'd be surprised if you didn't have a few aches and pains in your muscles after that, so glad you had the sense to rest up for a day.

Mon - Fri...painting Lads house inside top to bottom and glossing...and touching up the rendering at the front where people like to pause near a school and rest their dirty shoes on the wall.

Friday was spent at Wrighington hospital for a check up on my last operation and being told what operation needs to follow. Oh!! The joys of getting old and decrepit.

Tom! I didn't mean that you pooped on the couch! I said you "pooped out" on the couch, meaning you fell asleep as you were shattered.

Peter: Digging 2ft into the ground wouldn't have done your back much good either, so hope you're okay now.

Jathbee: Yeah, tell me about it. It’s no fun this growing old game. Had to have a couple of blood tests done just before Easter for onset osteoarthritis and for weight loss, which is something I can’t afford to happen. Oh well, what will be, will be.

Mollie, it was the Peter reprobate that told me not to poop on the couch, anyrodeup, I didn't .. Yes Jathbee, you're not on your own attending appointments, We are due another day long appointment in Manchester Royal Infirmary this coming Thursday, We're told to be there for 8am and expect to be there all day, Mrs Plum needs another eye opp, The V1 bus is the only way to get there for that time in a morning, It uses dedicated lanes and so avoids long standing traffic queues,

Have you recovered now, Tom? That was a long cycle ride for someone who's not been 100%, so it was bound to take it out on you.

Mollie … I agree, the weeks are whizzing by. My
birthday is on a Friday, it’s going to be interesting to see how quickly the nineteen Fridays pass until my Friday arrives

It really is hard to believe, Anne. Mum used to say to us, "when you reach 21, the years will fly by" and it's true. Seems like only yesterday when we were trudging through snow.

Seems like only yesterday, Peter, when you were telling us of her ordeal, and the hospital visits, and everything else.

At our age we want time to slow down a bit, not speed up.
