It's an awful journey from Wigan to Bury if you are driving, I used to visit someone in the Breightmet part of Bolton on Friday afternoons, and Breightmet is on the way to Bury, and it would take two hours to get there, and three hours to get back to Wigan

Any suggestions as to how to ameliorate that?

I don't get over much nowadays, but recall Hindley being a real bottleneck when driving tween Ashton and Horwich.

I used to live close to Bury (Bamford) but was able to use East Lancs and motorway, but Motorways around there are far more crowded now than they were in my time.
