Can you take up a hobby which will deliver the same degree of physical activity that you seek?
Gyms scoop up a lot of dosh from people who take out expensive membership, but then do not attend!

You don't need to pay anything like that amount, SurferTom.
Those sort of gyms are only for 'the sheep'! Most are about £2 or £3 a go!!
A boxing gym would probably be your best bet. Boxing training is good for getting your heart pumping!

Central Park gym, Montrose Avenue, Wigan.
Last time I checked it was £10 p.m. by DD or £3 PAYG.
No joining fees, no membership, no minimum term.

Surfer Tom - I go to Exercise 4 Less. Used to be MFI behind Brocol House. I pay a tenner a month. Nothing fancy, sauna, pool etc but tons of machines, free weights, classes etc if it’s just an occasional work out you’re after. Little tip - they’ll try to charge you some sort of joining fee, maybe £15 and try to get £15 a month out of you. Leave your contact number but then say you’ll have a think about it. I guarantee they’ll be on the phone in a day or two reducing the price - “we can waive the sign up fee if you join now” etc. As I say, nowt special but it does a job.
