Reminds me of the poem 'It was a dark & stormy night ' think it was The Highway Man?

Good image Steve.

This is some street scene! I missed the 'super moon' on its arrival, and now I see it with surroundings more-telling than those given by the other sources I'd seen. I like Steve's 'out-shining Wigan's street lighting' piece, and, if I may, how his photo also gives easy recollection of rapscallions returning to their folds, here in Billinge.

It was more beautiful than normal - don't know the reason why - it was as if 'show business' was lighting up the skies!
Good photo...

great photo but you don't say where it is

I assume those are cloud formations not con trails.
A striking photo Steve.

Very atmospheric.
I can imagine Freddie Kruger to come out of shadows

I love this photo. I know we're in Spring but it reminds me of late Summer/early Autumn when the nights begin to draw in and people's lamps are lit early....a time of year I love. Let's hope we're all back to normal by then. I remember my childhood when street lights, (or gas-lamps as we called them whether they were gas or not), were much lower and dimmer than now and you could see the stars beyond them.

Extremely good photograph - evokes a piece of ghostly literature.
Or, possibly, an opening scene from Vera.
Well done Steve.

Lovely photo, looks like it could be Douglas Road?

Now that I think about it, lines of cloud were called standing waves. I have vague recollections of glider pilots referring to them coming over Parlick hill.

Gas lamp , gas lamp ,
where have you gone ,
I went to bed by moonlight ,
then woke up , they were gone .
They never said there leaving
and never said goodbye ,
so when I see the moonlight ,
I often wonder why .
Clouds are always pretty ,
by moonlight and the black
but I always miss my gas lamp ,
tis something that we lack .
I used to watch it snowing
around my gas lamps head ,
happy and contented
I fell asleep in bed .
now it’s kind of different ,
it shines but not the same ,
someone nicked my gas lamp (Grrrr!)
thems the ones i blame
