I'd like to thank Ron Hunt for submitting the Standish Parish Register for 1875 as it contained information about my ancestors in the area and provided interesting insights into the area and its history. If there are any other magazines available I'd love to see them. Thank you again to all associated with the Wigan World site

HI
I am still looking for the Bradley family from Yates Street from the 40's'and 50's also Alan Foster who used to live at the Crown pub in Miry Lane i would just love to know how they are doing, if you are still around please just drop a line via the guestbook as i said before i am Isabel who used to come to Wigan on long visits to my Auntie Rose (Hastie) who lived in York Street. I went to school for a while at a school just off Walgate, can't remember what it was called but it was before the bridge in a street on the righthand side if you are walking towards town
They were very happy days for me and I often think of all the friends I made back then,
I also used to take out a baby from Lee street (the nex cul-de-sac down from Yates street)called Linda I think she must be in her late 50's by now I can't beleive all those year have gone by
hope the families that I have mentioned happened to read this

I was born in the Institute for the Deaf in Swinley Road and moved to Bridgeman Terrace as a baby. Mr Clough, the dentist bought our house and we moved to Higher Ince. My brother Eugene and sister Stella went to Gidlow School, I went to Hindley & Abram GS. I was Lorna Gimson then. Does anyone remember us?

Came across this site while trying to trace my eldest brother Peter John Hill of Heath Street Golborne. Mum and dad used to own the paper shop in Heath street. My other brothers are Kenneth and Stephen and sister Carole.

Great site, I found the buriel place of my 2x Great Uncle, which is not what I was looking for, that was a bonus, I was looking for the coroners report on his death, his death certificate states he was killed when a large load of coal fell on him, age 23.
Keep up the great work,

HI
ITS ME AGAIN ISABEL, I JUST WONDERED IF ANY ONE HAS ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THE BRADLEY FAMILY
THEY LIVED IN A LITTLE STREET JUST ACROSS THE ROAD FROM THE CROWN PUB I CANT REMEMBER THE NAME OF IT(MY AUNT LIVED IN YORK STREET JUST AROUND THE CORNER) THEY HAD FOUR KIDS MAY,DOREEN,BILLY AND I THINK THE YOUNGEST WAS FRANK.
MAY AND I USED TO TAKE OUT BABIES TO MESNES
PARK THIS WAS A FAVORITE THING FOR LITTLE GIRLS TO DO IN THOSE DAYS,ALSO WE USED TO SIT ON THE STEPS OF THE CROWN PUB WITH LOADS OF OTHER KIDS.
MAY AND I USED TO GO OVER THE IRON BRIDGE TO THE PICTURES WHEN WE HAD THE MONEY. WE WROTE TO EACH OTHER FOR YEARS AND THEN WE LOST TOUCH. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO EMAIL HER TO CATCH UP ON OUR LIVES
