Brilliant photo Mick absolutely fantastic. So clean and tidy a perfect Sunday photo.

Comment by: Sue on 24th August 2025 at 06:53

Mick you've captured everything here, look how clean the place looks.
Excellent photo Mick one of my favourite parks too.

Comment by: PeterP on 24th August 2025 at 06:54

Glad to see a building in good condition. There as been a few wedding ceremonies held here since they refurbished it and with the park next to it ideal spot

Comment by: Arthur on 24th August 2025 at 06:57

Always known Wigan Park to me Mick.
But beautifully taken and colourful.

Comment by: Helen of Troy on 24th August 2025 at 07:30

Beautiful floral whatnot, gatehouse etc but I think the photo is spoilt by the signs on the gate.....yes, I know they are promoting another Wigan extravaganza that ''people will flock to'' but it seems the Old Town that I knew is turning into an entertainment metropolis.....

Comment by: Peter on 24th August 2025 at 07:54

This one is a really good photo, its so clean and fresh. Love the planter too.
Great photo but Wigan Park for me.

Comment by: Howard on 24th August 2025 at 07:58

No one can chritise this photo Mick one of the best.

Comment by: Pat McC on 24th August 2025 at 08:52

A lovely summer scene - the flowers are beautiful. Would make a good jigsaw. Thank you.

Comment by: Jean on 24th August 2025 at 09:30

The 'names' are out in force on this one ! Fooling no-one Mick, except perhaps yourself.

Comment by: Cyril on 24th August 2025 at 10:00

A great photo Mick and greatly honours Wigan Central Councillor George Davies, who was always involved with the park, he actually funded planters, one of which can be seen in the photo. RIP George

Comment by: Meg on 24th August 2025 at 11:28

A lovely photo Mick, thank you. I was in the park park a couple of weeks ago when the Royal Air Force band was playing. What a lovely afternoon that was. The sun was shining and the park was buzzing with people, young and old, having picnics and listening to the music. We are so lucky to have such a beautiful place to enjoy.

Comment by: DTease on 24th August 2025 at 12:11

Pass the sick bucket.

Comment by: Meg on 24th August 2025 at 13:32

There was no call for such a nasty remark D'Tease. It really was a lovely afternoon and we are lucky.

Comment by: Irene Roberts on 24th August 2025 at 13:59

Meg, DTease didn't mean your comment. I think he was referring to the comments by Mutley, Sue, (practically the same comment), and possibly Howard. The pattern is getting ridiculous and predictable. The other comments from regular p-a-d people are genuine, I'm sure, as is yours. But those three are, as Barry Manilow sang, "One Voice". It's so obvious!

Briliant photo Mick. We are so fortunate to have you with us.

Comment by: Jean on 24th August 2025 at 14:34

I don't think Dtease meant the comment to be directed at Meg, rather the 'over the top' praises.

Comment by: DTease on 24th August 2025 at 17:08

I was referring to the first comment Meg.

Comment by: tommy39 on 24th August 2025 at 17:13

when i were a lad, there were signs up saying keep of the grass, now every man and his dog walk's on the grass, being an owd un i keep to the paths

Comment by: Meg on 24th August 2025 at 17:36

Apologies D'Tease. I thought it was aimed at me.

Comment by: Irene Roberts on 24th August 2025 at 18:17

" We Are So Fortunate to have you with us"? Pass that bucket when you've finished with it DTease!

Comment by: Elizabeth on 24th August 2025 at 18:25

Keep passing that sick bucket Irene, we all need it.!

Comment by: Mick on 24th August 2025 at 18:47

Irene, I've told you on several occasions that these people are not me, and I think they only do it to wind you up because they know you're daft and gullible.
Now then, can you tell me why you are so fortunate to have Mrs Tease making silly comments? On today's lovely photo which showcases a lovely part of Wigan that people and former Wiganers all over the world can view.
I've had it on good authority that you jumping on the attack, MICK, at every chance you get is wearing rather thin.

Comment by: Irene Roberts on 24th August 2025 at 19:45

I assure you I am certainly NOT "daft" OR "gullible" , Mick. The photo is fine....there is nothing wrong with it.....it's actually a nice photo, but the gushing praise by Mutley, Sue, Howard and Kath on EVERY ONE of your photos fools no-one. "We are so fortunate to have you with us"?? who on earth says things like that? Why don't they heap praise on the many lovely photos submitted by people like Dennis and Colin? Are they your personal fan club? And why is is just ME who is "on the attack"? I am by no mean the only one who notices this false praise and comments on it, as today's comments prove. . DTease, Jean and Elizabeth have all said the same things today, and two of them commented BEFORE me!! So why don't you pull THEM up? Why is it just ME, Mick? Don't worry,.....I won't comment on your photos again, and I won't answer any further comments from you on anyone else's photos so don't bother answering this.

It’s good to see what a great job was done on the Gate House. No help from Mick btw.
Mutley and Sue the plastic Barbie and Ken of Wigan World always around the same time…. What mediocre lives some folk lead. What flattery for pointing a smart phone ….the joy of seeing their own comments….

Comment by: John(Westhoughton) on 24th August 2025 at 23:45

Irene you can pass the bucket to me to please hopefully you had a great time at Lytham last Saturday,Veronica I met Bob the Dog last Monday and like you said he’s very timid but I’ve just got to gain his confidence hopefully you’re Sunday at Lytham was good.

Comment by: Mick on 25th August 2025 at 06:43

Meg, that was me who did the circular ride pass around the bandstand as the RAF band played. I noticed just as I was turning out of the bandstand area, the band conductor giving me a thumbs up with one of his batons.

Comment by: Elizabeth on 25th August 2025 at 07:43

Well said Irene.x

Comment by: Sue on 25th August 2025 at 08:21

I don't know Mick Personally, I only know of him through pad photos on WW.

Comment by: Veronica on 25th August 2025 at 09:56

It’s a case of just wanting to cause a buzz isn’t it Sue? You and your pal Mutt anything to be noticed. Nothing genuine about either of you even on his many grot photos more so actually. Over the top claptrap…whilst he criticises the genuine snappers with his claptrap. It spoils the site.

Comment by: Elizabeth on 25th August 2025 at 15:24

Very true Veronica, they are so transparent.
