In The Shade

Photo: Dennis Seddon (Sony DSC-HX99)
I've sent in a similar photo of these trees, except mine as a young Muslim lady on her knees praying underneath it,
When she got up she looked very happy and gave me a big.smile.
Who wouldn't smile to be among all this pinkyness. Lovely Dennis !
It's a beautiful scene, Dennis, but whereabouts is it, please? It certainly looks a lovely place to linger for a while in the pleasant weather we've been enjoying these past few weeks. It looks familiar but I just can't place it.
Breathtaking!
As Mat Monroe sang
’ On days like these’…..
Cyril will know Irene, just hang on a bit.
Morning Dennis. Is it Haigh Hall near the lily pond.
Irene, it is near the Fish Pond at Haigh Hall.
What the picture can’t show is the glorious aroma coming from all those blooms.
Mothers were taking their babies out of their prams to have their photos taken with the trees in the background. Memories for the future no doubt.
I've been saying for years that these trees need a good prune; they are getting too leggy.
Fabulous! These are on a par with the flowers in the Chelsea Flower Show. Thank you Dennis.
Dennis, a better-late-than-never thankyou for explaining where the lovely photo was taken.....I have been out all day riding about on buses and had taken my phone with me but not my reading glasses! I remember going to the fish pond as a child with my parents and there were big golden fish in it amongst loads of lily-pads, There were two greenhouses next to the pond and I can still feel the atmosphere in them...a peaceful near-silence but for a faint sound of running water, and beautiful plants, (some tropical). Unfortunately we never had a camera so no photos of little me at Haigh Hall, but I'm sure the Mums who take their babies' photos on mobile phones at Haigh now will treasure the memories.
Pat McC I disagree they wouldnt stand a chance at any flower show because they have all been let to get out of hand, like Kelly said to leggy.
Good peaceful photo Dennis,I can’t believe we’ve had no rain here today as we’ve been to Tamworth and coming back on the M6 around Stafford the motorway was like a river very difficult to make the lane lines out.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder Mick.
Irene
I remember that part of the Haigh estate in exactly the way you describe.
However, when last I visited, about a decade back, I was disappointed: it whur nowt like as I had remembered!
