Quiet Contemplation

Quiet Contemplation
A quiet place just to sit and get things straight in your head.
The old Grammar School Playing Field, Wigan.

Dorothy, were you Doc Hillman's daughter who lived on Gathurst Lane? If so, I wouldn't have thought you were a spud picker.
I've picked spuds for Tom Valentine a few times, but in the early 1960s, by 1969, I would have been working offshore on the newly discovered North Sea gas fields, so not at the same time.

This photo looks like the Covid garden to me.

It looks very tranquil..in years to come it will be very shaded with all the trees. Must be expecting very hot summers in the future.

Just beautiful Dennis. It reminds me of the words of a John Denver song. 'Cool, green & shady'. As you say a place to sit & think.

To quote a phrase, "Peace is silver, Silence is golden". That little oasis in Wigan has both. A lovely photo, Dennis.

It is the Covid memorial garden, and is really lovely and peaceful.

Beautiful Dennis, so serene.

A lovely spot but I still preferred it when the cricket field and Fives Court were there. happy days gone for good.

Beautiful. Trees are vital to our existence and these are stunning. Hopefully they'll still be here for generations. Thank you Dennis.

To be honest I think Dennis as over done it with the green.

It is a quiet reflective place to sit. Over 232,000 recorded deaths in the UK from Covid 19 since the outbreak.
By coincidence I’ve been for my Spring Covid jab today.

Absolutely beautiful photo. Mal its Spring and you'll find new vegetation looks so lovely and Green at this time of year.

I would agree with Mal, too much of a sickly green for me, even that bloke's white mac as gone green.

232,000 recorded deaths in the U.K. from Covid 19 since the outbreak eh ?

Were these 232,000 deaths directly due to the Covid virus , or were there other health issues involved , and did Covid just play a contributory part in the demise of some of these unfortunate people ? … or no part at all in fact ?

I guess we’ll never know the answer to that one .
But many people suspect manipulation of the figures by the government in an attempt to justify the possibly over zealous action taken at the time .

I knew one young otherwise healthy lad that died as a direct result of Covid .
I also knew one elderly chap that was admitted to RAEI who was practically at death’s door with a terminal illness when he entered the building , contracted Covid within days of admission and died several days later .

This person is probably also among those on the official list of Covid victims .

Needless to say, I don’t necessarily believe everything that the government would have me believe .

Given their record … would you ?
