Comment by: Veronica on 17th April 2025 at 08:58

“ Who built that wall?”
It certainly wasn’t the Romans.

So can you lend a dog from it ?

Comment by: Ticsmon on 17th April 2025 at 14:45

"Who built that wall?"

He may have done but he was probably on first.

Comment by: Lower Grounder on 17th April 2025 at 14:53

That's not in Shevington, it's in Standish.

Comment by: Tom on 17th April 2025 at 15:40

It's the Shevington side of the welcome to Standish lower ground sign.

Comment by: Mick on 17th April 2025 at 16:40

The wall was built by a pensioner who was sick and tired of seeing council house motorbiking gangs spoiling the ancient woodland a footpaths.
So he just gathered whatever material he had available to make this banacade. It might not look the best, but it works.
The ball lending library is a new idea that gets well used by dog owners who have forgotten to bring a ball.

That wall is a dog's dinner.

Comment by: Slippery Mick on 17th April 2025 at 17:38

Tom, it might be on the Shevington side of the welcome to Standish Lower Ground sign, but it's also on the Standish side of the Welcome to the Parish of Shevington sign and it's also on the Standish side of Mill Brook which is the boundary of Standish and Shevington. The photo is of a gateway in Standish, not in Shevington.

Mick that wall has been built there over 20 years and the slippy one is right about them signs.
