A forgot part of Wigan. Most people just drive by I have visited once to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Nice photo Mick. I like the chapel on the Green, looks very similar to the one near Alexandra Park Pemberton way. That one was demolished for 2 houses to be built. I used to go there on a Sunday with my Auntie & Uncle, Fred Foster's parents.

Helen - It does look very similar to the chapel in Mitchell Street, Newtown. My mother and father-in-law lived in Mitchell Street for about 60 years - opposite the bowling green. I didn't know that the little chapel had been demolished - how very sad.
