The fans pictured on there made a financial gesture when everyone else deserted the Club and all seemed lost, until the new owners stepped in. They believed when no one else did !!

Joseph - why would the rugby get one? These are people that put their hands in their pockets to save their club in it's darkest hour.
Meanwhile as I recall the rugby were offering to buy the stadium but not the football club - pretty much taking the only asset that Latics had remaining which would have led to no prospective owners being interested and would have pretty much condemned them to liquidation.
