How lovely! I haven't been through Hindley Station for years and have never seen the hind, though I have in the past seen the well-kept displays and the clean and tidy station. The Hind from "Hind Lea",(Hindley). was part of our school badge at HAGS, wasn't it, Elizabeth? The Friends of Hindley Station do a brilliant job. Well done and Thankyou to them all.

It’s one of the very best stations to pass through. It always looks good even in Winter.
Creative, interesting and unusual.

Great photo, Dennis. The sculpture is wonderful, as is all of Hindley Station thanks to the dedicated volunteers.

Looking online, the Hind was made by sculptor Paul S. Foster and installed at the station in May 2018. A local Y4 pupil, Kian, named her Dinhely (Din-ee-ly) and the official unveiling ceremony was on 8th June 2018 with sculptor Paul, Kian and other St. Peter’s Primary School children, local MP Yvonne Fovargue, and members of the Friends of Hindley Station, all in attendance.

Yes Irene, you're right the hind was on our school badge, along with 'prodesse' written on the badge.

I'd have preferred to call it "Tingley."
As in "Ahm gooin t'Ingley markit."

First class job by the friends of the station. It gives a good impression of the community it serves.
