If nothing else it’s colourful.

This shop has been open a few years now. Walked past many times but never been inside.

That looks an interesting shop to go into, nice bright frontage, better than gloomy empty places along a street. Good wishes to the owners in taking it on.

I would have a try at most strange and exotic food but nothing would induce me to eat a sheep's eyeball . I lost a bet once trying Bombay Duck . What a disgusting odour .

We were in Mesnes Street yesterday and I could have wept when I think of how it used to be. It was the same walking through the Market on the way back to the bus station too...it was like a ghost town. We were only in Wigan for an hour....there was just no incentive to stay any longer. At least the shop shown above is OPEN, and it's nice to see the fruit set outside on the pavement. It looks nice and fresh too.

More bad news for Wigan town centre today, Beaverbrooks the jewellers who have been at the entrance of the Galleries for 30 years are leaving, plus another jewellers in the Grand Arcade, Chisholm Hunter, are also shutting up shop.

Well, he won't get any noise complaints from the neighbours will he?

They'll be supplementing their income from fruit and veg. sales by the usual means.

I'm surprised that various flags aren't flying over the top of the window.
When the new apartments are built they won't be short of a few small shops.

Standby for the jobsworths from the council pouncing on him for putting his produce on the pavement. Elf and safety.

Comment by: PeterP on 9th March 2022 at 17:41

Broady some shops are allowed to use a certain amount of the front of their shop to display their goods (used to be 2ft)

"I'm surprised that various flags aren't flying over the top of the window."

Veronica, they've stuck them all at each side of their facia board.
