Oh dear Mick what a smashing timely photo after yesterdays.
Ill be looking out for any new videos that you may make of the sun rising in your new location.

Wonder if you will see sunsets like that where you are moving to Mick ?

Comment by: irene roberts on 24th February 2022 at 08:43

That's very fitting for a Goodbye...Mick going off into the sunset, like Del-Boy at the end of Only Fools and Horses....next year you might be a millionaire, Mick, with your new job! If you'd gone off up North instead of South we could have said "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet". Anyway, all the best. Lovely colours in that sky.

It might be a sunset over Shevvy but the sun also rises over the old homestead and the green green grass of home. I don't think we will see the last of Mick.

Lovely photograph when I saw it the song Its Over by Roy Orbison when he sings about lonely sunsets.Good luck

Comment by: Ray on 24th February 2022 at 10:36

Hi Irene, I think you must have been looking at your map book sideways,.
Auf Wiedersehen Pet is German, and Germany is to the East of the U.K.
If he goes North, he might say " Och Aye, the Noo ". Cheers, Ray.

Lovely photograph it reminds me of the song Its Over by Roy Orbison when he sings about lonely sunsets.Good Luck in your new venture.

The sun sets over Mick, gone to look for his loose screws with the Mary Helens daaan saaaff!
Is there any truth in the rumour that the Council House tenants lined the roads of Shangri-La to wave him off?

Comment by: irene roberts on 24th February 2022 at 11:22

You're right there, Veronica, As my Mam always used to say, "There's no show bowt Punch".

Comment by: irene roberts on 24th February 2022 at 12:41

Ray, I know it is German, but I was talking about saying "Goodbye" on tv programmes, hence my mention of Del-Boy going off into the sunset, as he did on the episode where the Trotters became millionaires. By "Auf Wiedersehen Pet", I was referring to the tv programme of that name about the Geordie Lads up in Northumberland who go to work in Germany.

Mick: That’s a nice photo, I’am just trying to get over how Annemarie going to miss you, It’s Over, It’s Over, may be it would be better, I’am crying, crying over you. Just remember to keep screw’s out of your turn ups, and count your nuts before you go home.

On the other hand he could be working for MI5 just doing mug shots of the staff.

Comment by: Ray on 24th February 2022 at 14:15

Thank you for your comments Irene, I was just winding you up for a bit
of a giggle, particularly because of the dreadful last 2 years we have had
with this awful pandemic. Best regards, Ray.

Comment by: DTease on 24th February 2022 at 15:00

I have this vision of Prince Andrew going into B&Q and asking Mick for four candles and Mick replying “Sorry your hautiness I only do screws”

Comment by: Veronica on 24th February 2022 at 15:26

Exactly - he's also writing his auto biography so we can imagine how that will turn out!

Comment by: irene roberts on 24th February 2022 at 16:26

Thanks Ray, yes, we all need cheering up at the moment. I'm absolutely streaming with a cold! DTease , John G and Our "Dolly", you've ALL cheered me up with your comments. John G, going back to Del-boy, perhaps that should be "cwying over you"! Annemarie, I love that song; "Golden days before they end whisper secrets to the wind". Lost love! So sad.

Comment by: Ray on 24th February 2022 at 18:18

Thanks Irene, With regard to " Auf Wiedersehen Pet " I have the first three
complete series on VHS tapes. Also, there is a great song from about 1998
called " Never say Auf Wiedersehen ", try and find it on your Google thingy.

Cheers, Ray.

I thought he'd gone. Ah well!

Comment by: irene roberts on 24th February 2022 at 19:21

DO pardon me, John, for my extra "coments". I know I do a lot of 1940s events but I thought rationing stopped in 1954.

Comment by: Veronica on 24th February 2022 at 19:38

Is that in the 'rules' John it's the first I've heard ?! Good grief ! I thought Putin only ruled in Russia.

Comment by: Bruce Almighty on 24th February 2022 at 20:53

B&Q? they won't know what's hit 'em.

Comment by: John G on 24th February 2022 at 22:07

Can I just say Johnny Weaver you’ve no power on this committee whatsoever, none at all, read your standing orders and understand them.
Irene you can say any comment at any time, I just checked with the committee.
