There's three other post offices in Wigan, also two in Ince and one in Asda at Newtown. How many do you want?

They are killing this town, why would you put the post office at bottom of grand arcade where disabled people and elderly can't get to it, I'm very disappointed with all these crazy changes, Wigan folk won't be happy when they also close galleries car park at end of January.

Why is there a temporary Post Office ?

It says that on the window poster, is she going to stay like that all day ? she will have tired arms.

Are they that desperate for customers they have to resort to a lady getting wet and cold to advertise were the post office is? Can they not read the posters on the windows?

Helen, they closed the main post office on Wallgate ages ago and moved it to WH Smith. Now WH Smith has closed down and they've moved it yet again. It will more than likely get moved from pillar to post until they close it down altogether. Bruce Almighty, not everyone has transport or mobility to get to sub post offices. I live in Abram and at the moment have two close by, Abram and Platt Bridge, but some people live in villages where theirs has been closed down and have relied on the one in town which they can easily reach by bus. Not everyone has a car or good mobility.

Helen of Troy the main post office on Wallgate shut down a few years ago and it was moved into WH Smiths. Now WH Smiths has closed they have moved into what was the Wigan Warriors at the bottom of the Grande Arcade till they can find a new home for it

The poor woman - hiding her face from embarrassment. There's no need for her to hold that notice up people aren't that thick they can't read the posters in the window.
I must admit the temporary Post Office is out of the way in the Grand Arcade. It will be interesting to see if they find a good place for the business to continue.

The reason the lady is stood there directing Wiganers is because the posters they got made up doesn't say were they have temporary moved to.
So she is telling people we are now next to the Wigan warriors shop, and they say where is the Wigan warriors shop.
I said why dont you tell them that we are now next to Debenhams, so she said thats a good idea I will.

I read one of the notices on the window, and it said they were moving to 23 Crompton St.This is only a couple of weeks ago.

I was queuing in there for stamps last Saturday and people in front of me knew where they were going then.

I ordered four books of stamps from Royal Mail shop on line. Arrived by ordinary post two days later. There was a postage charge but not as hefty as a car trip there and back to either of my nearest P.O. Driving into town with car parking charges a complete no, no.

Irene, anybody who lives outside of Wigan has to pass a post office on their way into Wigan. Anybody who lives in Wigan has to pass a post office to get out of Wigan.
The one in WH Smiths is a 'sub' post office. The 'main' (crown) post office title ended when it closed on Wallgate and it re-opened as a private franchise.
