Mesnes Park
Nothing to do with this piccy, it's a pleasant, tranquil enough scene. But....just noticed some of Ozy's remarks on the Reliant post. If he is referring to me what does it all mean? I am greatly puzzled. If on the other hand iit's someone else let sleeping dogs lie.
I have such happy memories of going to Wigan Park with my parents, (we never called it Mesnes Park). I used to have a glass of fizzy Vimto with a blob of ice-cream in it in the cafe. I remember the cafe was closed for years, and when it re-opened I was thrilled to find it hasn't changed all that much. What a lovely photo of a much-loved park. xx
Irene , There's a good chance you and others on here were served by my mam as she worked there. Her name was Irene also. Don't know the dates and how long she worked there as I was too busy with myself growing up . It's only in later life you deeply regret how much you should have made a effort to find about your parents lives and what 'they ' did growing up. You don't imagine, or take in, that they were children once also. They no doubt had hopes and dreams but the war put a huge hole in that like it did for so many people. Maybe those who are desperate for this going on to end, like we all are , should perhaps reflect on what they had to put up with during those times. Thanks for posting Mick.
It is someone else Anne, using the same name. It's happened a few times, if you remember.
Nice peaceful scene with some warm colours there Mick.
Nice picture.
Thank you Veronica. I'm sure that's the explanation, took me by surprise three mentions, however not me.
I think everyone likes Wigan Park.Where else can you find such a nice place, in the middle of town.Lovely photo Mike
Don't let it bother you Anne. I know Ozy and don't think he would have meant anything wrong. Last year someone actually lifted a comment of mine from p-a-d and posted it on facebook with a nasty comment. It was dreadful and I said I wasn't going to continue posting on p-a-d until I thought of the lovely people on here that I was going to lose because of one pathetic person. Are you the Anne that gave me my fox-fur, Ike, and my basket? There seem to be two Annes and I don't know who is who! All good wishes, Anne, (whichever Anne you are!). In fact. to BOTH Annes! Keep safe, ladies, and keep posting. xx
Hello Irene... I'm the fox fur Anne, Ozy's remarks just took me off guard at the time I read them. I wasn't upset simply puzzled. It can be difficult with two people using the same name but I prefer to use my registered name. I don't suppose Ike has been out and about much this year. Maybe next year. Thanks for your concern.
