Barton Wood

Barton Wood
Barton Wood Winstanley. Not many leaves left on the trees now so probably the last Autumn pic for me this year. Bring on the snow :)

This one is my favourite of all the Autumn pictures. It's got everything, sharpness, colours and bright light. Plus the contrast of the bare trees. The snow scenes will be very welcome ( if we get the snow!)

Have really enjoyed looking at all your Autumn photos Dave. This last one is great, the yellow leaves, the focal point, stand out so bright before they finally drop.

The painter says the wood that late in Autumn was
Jackson Pollocked with leaves ,
Will become an icy blank canvas for the budding artist .

The poet says the trees that just a few short months ago
Warbled with whitethroat's nests ,
Stand starkly now like twigs of Japanese writing
Fortelling of coming snow .

The musician says the breeze that in April was a flute ,
Is a trumpet now near the symphony's end .
Soon there will be new tunes .

I had never heard of Barton Wood but what a beautiful picture! I almost wish it could be "forever Autumn" as the song goes, as I can do without the snow!
