Poppy Fountain
That's great Mick, well done to whoever made it, was it it the scouts with the fleur de lis emblem on the noticeboard.
The Fountain was made for 75th Anniversary Of VE Day and is still in place, the Poppies are made from painted bottoms of plastic bottles, here is a close up of them.

It was made by the Appley Bridge community Cyril, the building used to be the scout hut but its now the community centre
The Poppy Waterfall is a great idea and I can see them springing up all around Wigan in areas that have strong community's, like Aspull, Abram, Westhoughton, and Standish. after the residents of these places see this one on Wiganworlds Photo-a-Day
Mick, there's a video on how to make them on youtube, it's a good idea.

The township of Hindley has had these displays for over 2 years,so no one is copying Shevington at all.
A great tribute - very clever making use of plastic bottles.
Here's a different way and using the top of the bottle too, and not just poppies also other flowers.
