Is that the beacon hiding behind the street lamp ? I think I was a teenager when I last went to Ashurst Beacon. I am 84 years old now so I can be excused for getting confused about what I am seeing !

All the best, Mick. From Alan

Great Photo Mick, we should play a game of spot the beacon.

Alan you cant see the beacon now for the trees.
Years ago you could easily see it, and when it was grand national day, you could see a BBC telly transmitting van parked up on the top helping to get the signal over the hill

This is the England of old, with rolling hills and fresh green pastures and no traffic in sight..

What a lovely view both in the distance and on the road, with the fingers of shadow and light cast by the sun and the lamp-posts.

Like that 'signal over the hill' piece Mick. And this photo is very good. I particularly like the isolated houses in the distance and the very much closer thrill of a lifetime. As for the descent, well, I'd rate it as being somewhere in-between rumble and rampaging: Rollicking.
