Today those trees are in full green leaves.

I can just see the little coal trucks behind a bush.
You can see the slots in the stone work of the dam that they would lower a gate into to block off the brook which made a lake of water that could then be released to work the corn mill

A stark photo. To me it reflects the time we are going through & just as there will be green shoots on these trees in time, so there will be better times ahead for us.

I can almost hear the birds singing. The song, "I talk to the trees" comes to mind....there's no-one else to talk to! I love the trees and the shadows and the peace.

My thoughts as well Helen, those trees will be dressed in fresh green by now ...could be a few bluebells as well..

It certainly is much greener today - but no bluebells in this particular area, though there are lots close by.

Thankyou, Mick.

Will the bluebells be our native, the spanish invaders or even hybrids. Been trying for several years to rid my patch of them.

No-one here is talking,
children can't be seen,
footsteps passed have winded gone,
like memories that have been.
Maybe all are hiding,
in shelters made from lead,
where everyone is talking
but no-one hears what's said.
The forests are all empty,
the grass has turned to stone,
with nothing yet decided,
for you and me to own.
Maybe that's the answer,
we think we own but don't,
we tell each day we'll give it back,
but yet in truth we won't.
So wake up sleeping children,
these days are made for you,
But always do remember,
one more day is two..
