The Community have done a very good job, its good when the local people can get together to achieve things like.
I dont understand why more of Wigans eyesore areas cant be cleaned and tidied up by the people who live there

I absolutely agree with you, Mick, (for once!).The trouble is they tend to become the target of mindless vandals and people get heartily sick of putting in all that effort for it to be ruined. Hopefully this lovely garden will be left alone and, if so, it may give people the incentive to do something similar in their own district of Wigan. I must admit it looks beautiful. Well done to all concerned.

I agree Irene - the ultimate in civic pride, if only everybody felt the same way about the community. No more dropping litter on the streets would be a start.

Maybe your agreeing with me Irene because you have got out of the other side of the bed.
If you look around Irene you will see quite a few nice little gardens done by the local residents, but only in certain areas of Wigan.

Yes, we have a community garden in Abram, Mick which is railed off and so far it is intact and there is a Christmas Tree in it in December, but I have seen reports in The Wigan Observer and on facebook about community gardens in Ashton being targeted by vandals. I'm glad we have agreed on today's subject, Mick, and I also agree with Veronica about dropping litter on the streets and even out of car windows! It's disgraceful and drives me potty.
