sad to see the shelter boarded up. I suppose it's to keep out rough sleepers and druggies. A sign of the times

Having entered through those ornate gates,
'KEEP OF THE GRASS' the signpost tersely states.
As if any child would even dare
to step on lawns laid with such care.
But that was then, not here and now,
To those old customs we no longer bow!

Summer in the Park... How nice!

A nice 'weighty' Photo Ron - lovely spread of branches on the tallest tree.

Keep off!
Ah well!

What appallingly ugly shutters more fitting for the Bronx.
Come to think, I was in Central Park a few years ago( no, the other one) and nothing as grim as they were permitted even in that great and violent city.

Let's hope it doesn't rain!
Despite the shutters they have done a good job of cleaning this area up and Ron's photo shows it off well.

At one time there were public toilets either side of this shelter. Looks as if they have gone - another sign of the times we live in where everything that isn't locked or shuttered is vulnerable to theft or vandalism.

Last time I walked through the park parents were allowing their kids to kick footballs into the flower beds,Again no parental control.
